September 21, 2006 Meeting

When: Wednesday, September 21, 2006 at 10:00 AM
Where: Haley Center, room 3233.

At this meeting:
  • Jordan Craddock from the AU chapter of AIGA (http://www.aiga.org/) will be discussing how they are using podcasting within their organization.
  • Marcia Kloepper from Poultry Science will discuss their plans for using podcasting from a departmental perspective and tell us about the university's efforts to establish standards and policies regarding podcasitng.

Excellent meeting

That was an excellent meeting.

Marcia's presentation about podcasting gave us a lot to think about concerning the future of this distribution format at Auburn. The sooner we can get campus-wide standards the better because it will make the whole university look a lot more unified to the public.

During the remaining time, we had a surprise presentation by Darrell Crutchley, the IT Coordinator in the AU College of Liberal Arts. He gave a demonstration of ITunes U at Stanford University (http://itunes.stanford.edu/) as well as showing how he is doing podcasting for various projects.

Unfortunately, Jordan Craddock from AIGA was not able to be with us today.

I thought it was a good meeting also.

I hope we begin to see this technology utilized on campus.
