MAX 08 and the ColdFusion Unconference Schedule
Submitted by tigersam on Thu, 2008-09-04 10:23.Please join us November 16-19 in San Francisco for Adobe MAX 2008 which will bring together thousands of forward-thinking designers, developers, and business decision makers that are shaping the future of our industry. As part of the agenda at this year's MAX, Adobe has added the MAX Unconference area. The Unconference is a way for attendees to convene in a casual setting to share ideas as well as host their own discussion groups. This year ColdFusion has been chosen as one of the four organizations to run one of the Unconference areas.
Anyone with a MAX badge can participate in this program. Come share your knowledge by joining in the open discussions, suggesting topics, creating agendas and participating in engaging Q & A.

Adobe Systems Inc. is launching a new version of its document sharing software Acrobat on Monday, and this time it can package videos.
Acrobat allows users to package documents so they can be read across different hardware and operating systems.
Acrobat 9 comes with Adobe's video-enabling software Flash. Users can include Flash-based videos when they create and share documents with the portable document format, commonly known as PDF.
With a professional version of Acrobat 9, for example, users could package a Power Point presentation not just with images, but also with an audio of the presenter's voice.

e-commerce for Department Publication
Submitted by tigersam on Fri, 2007-11-30 10:44.We've got a department that publishes a journal. They want to be able to accept on-line credit card payments for subscriptions to this journal. They do not currently accept credit cards, only checks. Does anyone have any experience doing this? I understand that the University has a program that could handle this sort of transaction, but I don't know what it's called.
